Architecture

This section describes the KODO for Microsoft Office 365 architecture in more details. KODO offers scalable architecture and workload balance for Microsoft Office 365 backup, as shown in the figure below:

And all of them can be accomplished using CLI or Web UI (shown below):

KODO Server is a central management point, here you will set up access to your Microsoft Office 365 organization and manage the process of making backup copies. The server connects to the agents and distributes tasks between them.

Agents are components that are responsible for performing backup copies. You can install and configure many Agents to optimize backup tasks performance. Each Agent can perform backup from one or several Office365 organizations. Agent reports to the server that it is ready to perform the task. Agent reports to the server that is ready to accept the task, KODO server distributes tasks equally among available agents.

Microsoft Office365 Organization Specifies the data to be protected. One organization can be backed up by many Agents.

Task is a set of rules and office365 data which are protected by KODO solution.

In the figure above single Agent 1 is processing backup tasks for two different Office 365 organizations, two other agents process data of individual organizations.

Then data can be restored by individual users using KODO Client installed on their desktop or mobile devices.
